I've learned my lesson with PI, snakewood, etc. I rough turned these blanks a few months ago and let them crack. Fill with CA and sawdust to make cracks invisible and turn to final dimensions. Let sit a couple of weeks to see if it wants to crack anymore. Finish and assemble.

Did you say a "little curl?" That's the curliest PI I've ever seen. My closed end gizmo is still sitting in my shop, unused. I just seem to be collecting tools. Oh well, it beats not having them. Nice work on the pen. It's gorgeous.

I like your idea about letting it sit for a while. I turned a pen and pencil set last year to give as a gift and it has yet to crack. I guess i was just lucky.
