It didnt come out the way I hoped. I ended up with a few black spots. Other than that, The pink dragon blanks from Jeff is really nice. I put this one on a chrome cigar..

As always, comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Looks really great, the woman will love that. The black spots must be the wood itself right? It looks like you burned a little sanding it. I do not sand curly maple spinning on the lathe. If it's a little rough, turn off the lathe and gently hand sand it and call it good. That maple is so curly it will burn up. Your finish looks real nice, thick, shiny, more than enough to seal the wood without any sanding at all.
