It may be a dumb question, but why not use a "Comfort" type center band that is bigger instead of a slimline so it does not look like you are squeezing the blanks? Or is this a style that sells well for you? Anyway, nice Pink!

"comfort". Can you buy them without the whole kit? I do not like making these pens with the Dolly Pardon waist.

You can get them separate on Ebay and Penn State. I had good luck with the ones on Ebal, I had chrome and gold, both have help up well. Now I just buy the whole pen from Penn State or CUSA. I never liked the complessed whale look my self, but I am sure there are folks who do.

You can always just eliminate the center band and add another piece of acrylic or whatever and then you can make it any shape you want.
