This first pen was made available from Hunter-27 (Landon) here on IAP. We worked out a trade for some kits and he was nice enough to include one of his cast pine cone blanks. It was cast in alumilite in an awesome blue with a touch of pearl in it. Turned like a dream! I put it on a Blk Ti Jr Gent II. Has a CA finish MM to 12000 and polished with PlastX. It just may stay in my collection for now...

Next is a Chrome Zen on one of my home cast blanks. I'm happy with the way the blank turned out. I had to pry it from my wifes hands after showing it to her and it still comes up missing every so often .

Great work on the pens and thanks for the feedback on the blank. That was only my 3rd attempt at casting. The first two attempts seemed to go so well that I figured I must be doing something wrong! I wanted to find out from someone other than myself on how they turned before I had tons of blanks sitting around that would be of no real use. I felt my review might be a bit biased.

Beautiful job on both! Great looking pine cone casting and you turned a gorgeous pen from it. Congrats to both of you. The second one you might want to just give your wife because it's likely to turn up missing a lot more.
If you send it to me, I would be happy to keep it safe for you!
Regards,
Doc

Wow! I really like that second blank you made. That is pretty cool looking. Both pens are great looking for sure. You did a good job.

Thanks yall. Yes Shea still keeps wandering off with it saying she needs a pen for this or that. I just have to make sure I sneak it back, change the refill, and put it in with the others I'm taking to my show in two weeks!

That first one is something I dream of making some day. I like the second also but have yet to turn either of those kits. I am planning on it though.
