Pignut Hickory with a Rollerball kit from Woodcraft and Pens Plus finish. Had the first cap blow up on the lathe, but was able to make another that matched. Great blanks!

Very nice! Glad to see someone getting to enjoy this great timber. The finish is top-notch and the fit looks spot-on too!!!!






Pignut Hickory is a pretty common tree here in central Arkansas, and considering there are almost 30 different types of 'hickory' in North America.....it's just a good thing the leaves were still on the top with some nuts(or I'd have thought it something else). Guess it should have called: Carya glabra but that name just sounds uncool:wink:
