Petosky Stone Art Deco pen

A rare and Exclusive Art Deco Style pen .
Made using a 300 million year old fossil called Petoskey Stone.
These stones are only found on the banks of Lake Michigan and as i am aware not many have been turned into pens.

I travel to Petoskey every year. I'll actually be there in October this year. Very cool place to visit!

Beautiful pen. I only know of one other turned: http://www.penturners.org/forum/f13/petoskey-stone-one-almost-beat-me-69002/.

I had suspected that JohnGreco may have played with this, but I did not find it.

Well done, quite a challenge.

Drilling was the main concern. Used cobalt drill bit and turned using abranet only. No tools used to turn

Needs must using paper to bring it down,tedious but necessary. That prehistoric Coral packs a punch.

The third only I have seen record of well done mate.Runs on the board.
