Titanium gold ballpoint dressed up a really nice piece of Figured Maple.
Sanded to 400x, burnished using wood shavings mixed in with extra fine steel wool. Applied 6 coats of MINWAX Satin OMWB Polyurethane using my "Dipping Method".

Les, that is a fine looking pen! I haven't used that set of components YET, but should soon. Proof that CA glue isn't the ONLY way to get a great looking pen.

Do you have any experience with the pencil version? I know it use the Schmidt pencil mechanism ... does it convert without modofications? How well does it work in real world terms?

That timbewr has some really good looking grain/figure to it...looks right at home under that great finish you do!!!!
