The Pentel Rockets

I wanted to make an aluminum pencil for my son for start of school. I needed a slightly more masculine design than the ones I'd been doing up to now. So I came up with this:







I was pretty happy with it. Nice weight, and the grooves made it easy to grip. So I made a similar one from red white and blue PR:







I still need to find my dremel wheel to polish out the white in the grooves. I like the aluminum one better, but I've already got people wanting to buy the resin one off me!

Nope. Has to be polished regularly, or it quickly becomes satin.

I used to. Then I started sanding the inside corner of the clip. Now I might get an occasional scratch, but it buffs right out.
