Had the pink blank gifted to me by Brooks for the Pens For Hope stuff. Figured I'd get on it this morning. I REALLY like the Euro-ish shape I've been working (In spite of my wife complaining about the lack of a centerband) and figured I'd add some extra contour. I think it looks like I hit the mark with it. Should I keep this shape in the arsenal?

Very nice shape pen. Pretty in pink. The top part blank is bigger how did you achieve that? Not turn it down to bushing or what?

I used a bullet bushing on the top barrel and a Streamline bushing for the bottom barrel. Pulled them out and used Slimline bushings to space them out during sanding and polishing, letting me round the edges off.

I like it. you've had a nice showing of pens lately.

If you're looking for something to make up for the lack of center band, you can always try one like these, that I found searching through the photo archives:

There are several variations like this that you could do, even with a slimline.

Good luck, and looking forward to seeing more!

That DID just give my brain an idea baby. My bandsaw cuts a kerf exactly big enough to fit in a piece of my plexiglass AND some thick gauge aluminum. I think that may just be the alternative I want to trying to carve and polish the little rings, especially in stuff like PR. Shouldn't be hard to do, either.
