My High School was closed down in 1986, and most of the building was empty until a year ago when a development company started turning the building into apartments. The building was K-12, so most of us were pretty close with all of our classes.
They had an open house last year, and a kind alumni was able to snag some pieces of the old gym bleachers for me. Combined that with my NEJE last, and this was the result. Was able to get our old mascot logo off an old newsletter, and used that on the box.
Each one was customized with the class year. Shipped out over 40 of them last week. The wood actually turned like a dream! Nice hard maple, beautiful straight grain, it was probably the nicest turning and finishing wood I've ever used.
