Here is another kit from the bottom of my pile of kits. It is a pencil that I bought when I first started. I cut the curves with two different holesaws. I wanted to practice my Alumilite casting but I'm too tight to just pour it in a pot or cup to see if I got the method right.[}:)] Well thanks to Scott especially ( but others as well ),the Alumilite set spot on.:D I kept stirring and stirring till it started to get warm and only then poured. I had a lot more time than I expected.
The only 'trick' with this pen was that on the two bits of bocote on each end, I had to drill two holes, an 8.5mm to accept the braid but still a 7mm for the tube.
I tried a CA finish for the wood, but well....I can't swear on this forum, so enough said[xx(]
Certainly not a favourite but good learning experience.;)

Andrew, I just mixed then pressure cast at about 4bar ( approx 60psi )
I was going to vac the individual liquids, but now I'm glad I didn't bother. The clarity is phenominal and absolutely bubble free. [:D]
