Pen and Pencil Set

Here's a set I made for the better half.
I will be making another case. This ones too masculine and was practice, with what I had on hand.

Did you seal or treat the leather before or after engraving it? I did a couple sample engravings on leather and had some problems with the soot smearing.

I have some leather sealer that I'm going to try but haven't had a chance to yet.

The leather was salvaged from a case. I'm sure it was sealed but I don't know how. I tried a number of pieces of scrap and this one turned out the best. The soot wiped off with water.
