I found this blank at Rocklers. One of my first of drilling the hole on the lathe using pen jaws.
The blank drilled out center to the blank. I like this way better then the drill press so far.

Spectacular Blank, Fit and Finish.
Yes once you have drilled on the Lathe with Pen Jaws, it takes a lot of Anguish and Trepidation away.
But don't relax, keep doing the right things, Sharp Drill Bits, Slow Speed, Frequent Removal of Swarf, and Ease Pressure on Exiting.
