How far I've come in a month of turning!

{Excuse the photos, right now, I turn better than I photograph!}

This is my first - yellow satinwood slimline, turned 10-4-06

This is my 25th - Brazillian Massaranduba from Kelvin on a gold cigar, turned 11-8-06

Both are finished in friction polish. I like the feel of wood and haven't tried my hand at CA or lacquer yet.......

Be gentle, I'm new! [:I]

pens lood great.

i have been turning for about 1 1/2 years now and still dont use the ca glue finish. I just started to use shellawax for my finish. I like it better than the hut friction polish.
I dont want to use the ca glue method because i want the feel of wood on my pens.

Not bad photos really, just use a better background and slightly better lights. Even if you use white note paper it will look better. (Unless that is white paper.)

I used to use white ledger size paper and tape the top end to the wall so that it formed a soft "L" shape to get rid of the hard line at the base of the wall. Then I set my goods on the bottom and took a flash picture. If your lighting is good enough you won't even need a flash.
