To clear the nib I had to use a longer cap tube so this pen is 0.3" longer than normal.

The Red Plam was dyed by wiping on Alumlite blue dye and WTF then finished with CA.

No longer confused....
Better question is how does it write. With a bottom heavy lower that's backwards from mist every fountain pen out there I can't see it helping but get in the way of good script.

Not saying it's bad I'm just curious as to the practicality of it.

I was just checking.. the CG is only bout 1/8" - 1/4" further back compared to Jr Gent II when not posted.. If you post Jr it gets very tail heavy. It looks big but there isn't much to the end cap and the palm isn't a heavy wood so it's not that bad.

I can't say how it writes. It's a gift and I don't want to load it with ink before shipping it off. I have another Panache kit and more palm so maybe I'll try that one out.

That looks pretty good. Good job. My wife loves black palm and I find it difficult to work with. I can get it done, but it's not easy!
