Thanks for the kind words. It is only 5/8" thick so I am somewhat limited to what I can make with it. I would like to make a big fountain pen out of it, but I don't think I can drill a 9/16" hole and get it to work.....that's okay the postman brought me some spalted pecan via ebay last week!!

Most pallets are made from White Oak or Red Oak....unless it came in from overseas. And pallets seem to be very high percentage for spalting, guess they sit in water and then in hot containers. warehouses, or in a trailer heading across the country....perfect!


The pen is great, and I am guess you'll be going through the pallets a LOT more.
