Gary, those are REALLY NICE! I sell quite a few snakeskin pen of various styles and am always wishing there were more of a variety of skins out there.

How do you tan the hides? Homebrew? comercial product? Id love to get some copperheads and some Coral snake....still trying with rattle snake....

I don't think what I am doing is really called tanning---more in the order of dryed and streched. These skins are very thin----I use epoxy to glue them to the tubes---it makes them soft enough to form.

Those are really nice pens. I want to get some snakeskin blanks and try them but at the moment my house is in the middle of renovations. I don't even think I can see my lathe anymore. Should be finished in a week or so. I'll have to buy the blanks though, not too many snakes up here in the Great White North.

Great looking pens.

I have been thinking about making a Copperhead pen for myself to commemorate getting bit by one when I was four years old. That was 37 years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday.
