Here is what I did for the pen swap. Excited to share with you all and the process that went into it. May of you asked to see something in color compared to my last pen which was just black and white line work. Remember that the theme was autumn. So leaves became what I chose to do.

I started with a simple cocobolo wood which i turned and sanded. Then I used paints to get the color down on the wood. Requires a very steady hand. Then the black line work went down. Finally I sealed it and did a CA finish.

I wanted to create an original piece of artwork to go with the pen and it took a lot longer then i originally anticipated but it turned out well. When I finished it I applied a thick layer of resin to give it the same look of finish as the pen.

For the pen stand i used an easel along with the artwork. I almost wanted the pen to be lost in the artwork so that it would give the owner the feeling like they were taking the pen right from the artwork.

Here are all the pictures of the process so sorry for so many but here they are.

Hi Jon.

The pictures are a great display of your progression from the start to finish for the leaves. It is nice to see how the different steps were incorporated.

The finished pen and stand are beautiful!
