I made this set for a friend of mine, he sent me a 6" x 6" by 3/4" piece of Padauk and I thought this gift set was a fitting gesture of thanks.

I left the grain open and finished with HUT Friction Polish, I love the feel of the wood in my hand. I'm also just a little proud of my first attempt at a handle detail on the letter opener and magnifying glass.

Dan,
You've been busy!
Nice looking set. Someday I'll have to try this and I'll hope that it comes out as good as yours.

Nice job Dan. The first pen I turned was a Flat Top in padauk for my wife. I've fallen quite in love with it and I've used it for laminates and accents as well. Very nice job on the handle details there, too. I haven't made any sets like this... I might have to give'er a go...
