A lady at a local glass studio has been talking w/ Rebecca (my 11 yr old) about getting some of her glass beads onto one of Rebecca's pens. Then she asked Rebecca if we could do something with polmer clay. A couple of nights ago I found the amazing Toni's  "short" tutorial from 2010 - and read all 17+ pages. Also looked over a lot of posts from KnB and others.

So today me wife:beauty:, Rebecca:angel: & I:clown: sat around the kitchen table for a little while and eventually came up with this.

We definitely need to improve some things. Some of the smiley faces :) were too thick causing the surface to be a little lumpy - smooth, but lumpy:bulgy-eyes:. Also got it a bit too thin at the center band.

But we are overall quite happy with the results:rolleyes:.

An additional plus, the LOML:beauty: (who has not yet turned anything) is very interested in creating some poly clay designs.

Thanks for all the comments!

Mike - we baked it in the oven for 30 minutes at 300. The instructions said 300 for 10 minutes, but things were still soft and some of the stuff I had read recomended around 30 minutes

Exabian - I can't figure out how to link, so - do a search for " Toni brief explanation to make a PC tube". It is from March 2010.
