Orca Inlay

This is an Orca whale inlay pen I finished this weekend. I tried to make it from Ebony but my 50 watt laser would not cut through it at all. In fact a big flame was coming back out of the wood. I used a piece of Alowood (dyed hardwood) instead. It looks great but I'm having trouble finding a supplier that will order it in the small quantities I need.

Well, anyway this pen is going to a Nautical Gift Shop that wants to carry some of my pens. I'm excited about this new venture, he prices them much higher than I would but he has been in business for over 20 years and is willing to give me 60%. We shall see how it goes.
