Hi all,
I did this one plus a few more but really like this one.

Let me know I know I can't take pictures[V]

and blank on the lathe

As I said my picture does not do this blank justice

I like it!!!! Is the blank on the lathe the same one thats on the finished pen? I love the one on the lathe.

The grain looks much better on the lathe than in the pic. Looks like it makes a beautiful pen.

I'm guessing if they are the same pen you need more light in the first pic. Great looking pen though.

Nice looking pen. What kind of wood is that? There is some awesome patterns in the wood. BTW I like the improvised spacer on your mandrel.

Nice pen, That is the same blank I got on a cigar pen for the PITH this year. If you look in the photos section under my name the photo is there. It's a wild blank, lot's of flash.

If I'm not mistaken, that looks like an acrylic blank I picked up at Rockler. It's a great looking pen and the craftsmanship seems top notch. It looks like a copper cigar kit, right? I made mine with gold, but I'm thinking I might like the copper better after seeing yours. Good work.

It's acrylic and I love that blank. It has a ton of depth and really shines when you turn it in the light. I have done a couple of them. Good job.

Yes all the same blank.

Jamie hit it all acrylic.

one sweet blank color is alive

Try one guys you will love it.

Drill slow about 850 on my press and use water and soap in the hole back out often and cut blank larger then needed

Then cut end off.

Have the bright copper coming would like to see it also in the same.

Bought at Woodcraft on sale thru Dec 2.49 a blank name is Hot lava/Red/Brown 827733

Buy one put one away you will not regret it.[^]

If temps permit I think all my pictures will be outside better light.

Nice pen Jeff. I have done a few pens in the hot lava and it is really spectacular in full sun light. Good job.

Take that thing back out to the shop and reshoot that pic. First pic makes the whole pen look terrible, second is great!
