This 10K Gents was going to be a closed end until the closed end part jumped up and left the lathe. After the proper speech was given to the runaway wood, I decided to try and salvage this since the cap was done and looked pretty good. Blood wood and crushed turquoise for a little extra something to cover the glue line. The rest is redwood burl. All comments, pro and con, are welcome.:D

I think that's a pretty good recovery. From the photo it looks like a good compliment of colors. Is one of the turquoise lines directly on top of the glue line?
