I think the pen and the lighting looks pretty good.

Very good looking pen. Good fit and finish. Excellent choice of blank and pen kit.
Try putting a scrim (shade, blocking thingee) between your light and the background. That would create some additional depth, since your background is without texture. There's a natural tendency for your eye to travel from dark to light, so big light backgrounds are distracting. Some creative cropping will help you with that as well.

Lovely pen Dennis, everyone has had issues trying to get good pictures, its frustrating!
