This was one of the ones I got trading stuff. I looked at it and figured as translucent as it was, reverse painting it black would do something interesting. I had a lot of fun watching it go from normal to dark almost instantly as I crossed the threshold of what the light was able to penetrate. Trippy as all getout. I LOVE how it turned out, and I also learned to check the height of the tool rest on occasion. I was having a bear of a time with feeling like something was horribly wrong with me until about 3 pens ago when I realized the rest was super low. Live and learn.

now I wish I new what color I used to get there. A wise fella on here once said write down the colors used to make each blank. Now I guess I am going to learn how to use one of the pens I turn.

Yeah. It looks like pearl white, pearl maroon and pearl yellow. The black paint REALLY transformed it. Loved the blank.
