Here is quick slimline I put together today. It was pretty bland olivewood so I segmented it with some Mahogany I salvaged from a guitar maker's dumpster. I just couldnt stand to see it get burned so I picked up a couple of pieces big enough to do about a dozen bottle stoppers or so. Anyway.. here is the pen. All comments welcome.

Its definitely worth looking in to. I was told that some of the larger companies haul their "scraps" off by the truckload headed straight for the land fill!! OUTRAGEOUS !!

I met a gentleman who works at a commercial custom furniture business. They make things like conference tables for hotels and large companies. He gave me a box of walnut, pecan, wenge and zebrawood scraps. Its not the most figured wood I've seen but it still looks nice and the price was right!

I planning to turn a pen for him to say thanks!
