Nice job pen looks great. Only I would have done differentely was flip the blank around and have it go from light to dark/top to bottom.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried to do a CA finish on this, but it would not dry without clouding...I think it may be stabilized with Pentacryl...not sure. I will finish the next one with a poly and see how that works...I was just too impatient and wanted to finish this one.
The color surprised me...I did not think the cap was going to turn out so dark but as I turned it the color changed dramatically.

I got them on ebay...from "Spot's Woodshop" She calls them cross cut Olive Ash. So I am not sure[:D]
