Old is new again

This was a market find by a friend of mine. It has General on the body and 14K on the nib.
The nib is what was the best part. It has a lot of flex on it but the pen was really nothing special at all.

So he hands it to me and says make a nice pen out of it and have some fun.

So I had some vintage celluloid rod that has a hole in it. I think it was to make pencils out of but I am not sure. It was the right size so I made up a celluloid end cap and matched it on the top of the cap.

He now has a really nice pen with a great flex nib in her. I love taking old pen parts or not to nice pens and giving them new life. I also installed a converter into it so it is now a modern pen with a really great vintage nib.

Awesone job. Did you take out the lever fill when you remade the body?

Nice mods on that one. I wonder if you could have left the old lever on just as a curiosity?

The old body and cap is still intact. I just took the section with the nib, installed a converter into it to make it a bit more modern.

So I still have an old pen minus its section.

Excellent renovation work. Pen looks great and now doesn't have to go to the pen heaven!
