Amazing how this cluster of pens straightened out once they found out they were headed to Gary Greenberg for his Service Pens project.:biggrin:

These pics don't show some of the really nice wood in this batch of firewood. Kinda hard to get decent detail in a group pic.:frown:

One hundred black chrome slims dressed in spalted mesquite with a leather centerband.

As I mentioned in one of Gary's threads about seeking more donations, this is the 'payment' for another project for my Lions Club. Pics of that will be forthcoming. (Once I get it completed.:rolleyes:)

Nothing fancy but the design does facilitate making large numbers of them.

This is a closer pic of one of the many. Hopefully it shows what you wanted to see Joe.

Craig, the leather centerbands are just two pieces of leather saturated in CA and glued to the upper blank.

I tried to highlight the finger grooves by burning them with a wire. Some wouldn't burn due to the relatively large quantity of CA I had to use to stabilize most of these blanks.
