off center slimline stylus/pens

I read the pdf for single body slimlines. I initially liked the idea until I thought about turning the tip to engage the transmission. I decided a slight redesign was in order for me. I didn't appreciate slimlines for much until I had finished the first of these.

The top pen is Ebony and Hard Curly Maple
The bottom is Purpleheart and some other wood (help me out with the ID if you can). It was really soft and soaked thin CA like a sponge luckily.

Those are really pretty, but I can't quite get my brain around what the off center did to them. I've seen off center turnings, but what did it end up doing to these? Are they bent, not round, or both??
