The first Majestic I made... We had a fundraiser at our church where we got some grapes from Stellenbosch in the Cape and pressed it with our feet early in this year - grape stomping! Then in casks/barrels it went to become wine... Recently we had the bottling thereof and a wine auction to sell it... So I made this one and a similar fountain pen for auctioning... But the auction rained out before we got to the good stuff and the pens...

When looking closely to the barrel of these pens, one can see the grain patterns curves... I cut it slightly diagonal out of the spar from one of the casks/barrels. There are also specks and stripes in a pattern of their own - but when turning the barrel of the pen 90 degrees the speckles and stripes become a new grain pattern on their own! Directly perpendicular to the first pattern... I was amazed! I've worked with oak a lot before but mostly flat products and never noticed the double grain pattern - only now after turning!
