Oak burl set with 8 coats medium ca. Micromeshed to 4000. Mother's plastic polish. An order for a logger who gives a set to the landowner when the job is done. Usually from the client's land.

That's some beautiful wood!
I'm curious how long he has to let the wood dry before he is able to turn a pen from it? I would think it would need to dry longer than the job would take him.

I have an oak burl I need to cut up into blanks so that it can start to dry.

Lenny,
I cut and dry the burl in a microwave. Cut to blank size and do1 minute cycles letting the wood cool before the next cycle. 2 or 3 days and good to go.

Alton...

You are one of the most consistent creators of excellence and beauty in pens. Another great job!
