Another sales gambit:

My wife is convinced that a seam ripper is the best tool to use to remove labels from cans in the kitchen. Just slip the tip of the ripper under the label, and then slice from one end of the can to the other. Far safer than using a knife.

So every purchaser should buy TWO - one for sewing, and one for the kitchen.
