Just finished my 3rd kitless. Pleased with some aspects, but yet again the threads let it down the most. I have tried heat and all sorts, and was beginning to think it was me, but I made a section out of acetal and the thread is nigh on perfect.
The cap is a bit small. This is because I was desperately trying to get the grain to match. I thought I had on both ends, but when I put it all together the cap to body is out by about an 1/8th of a turn.
I've left it with a satin finish cos I think it suits the material.....faux horn.
Please critique.
Thanks for looking
John

looks great for a 3rd one. I'm still studying and about to begin my 1st. Did you turn the black nib section or use a pre-made. If turned what die spec are the threads and if it was a pre-made - where did you get it? Hope my 3rd one is as good!
