I have been wanting to try the black chrome and dual chrome Sierra kits and finally had my chance yesterday. I also just received a new batch of stabalized boxelder blanks from River Ridge that I was anxious to see. Here are the results.

I think the two tone chrome schemes really go well with certain colors and the black pens make the colors really pop and draw your eye to the blank rather than compete with them.

These all look great, well done. I prefer the metallic kits, especially the black Ti ones. I too would like to know the names of these blanks.

The blanks are all dyed box elder burls. I get mine from River Ridge Products http://www.rrpwhite.com/acryliwood.htm because I think they are nicer looking than any other I have tried, their prices are cheaper than most and they are just flat out a friendly couple to do business with.

The colors from left to right are:

Violet, Royal Blue, Wine, Green, Peridot, Gold, Red, Teal

Jarad, Probably the best places around for Sierra kits is Bear Tooth Woods http://www.beartoothwoods.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_23&products_id=28 or Berea Hardwoods http://www.bereahardwoods.com/price/whats_new/new_sierra.cfm

Actually, the best way to buy your kits is to watch the classifieds section for "Group Buys". That's when a bunch of guys get together and place a large order to take advantage of quantity discounts. Usually, one person places the order then when the kits arrive, he seperates out all the individual orders and mails them out to everyone.
