First, the color is too dark, but my idea is to engrave it, to show the white wood underneath the blue. It should look good, if I can get the blue darker. I love dyed curly maple. It wouldn't work with dyed stabilized blanks. I might try the same thing with blackwood and sapwood.

PS There are some black bushing marks on the holly and some chip-out in the middle of the maple blank.

Looks great Rob and I agree ----Dyed Maple is great to work with---really gives the wood some nice color plus the curl is a bonus.
