None of the above !

Birch Plywood, .75"

The wood was actually scrap from building my lathe cabinet (pic in my album). I made it a month ago, and I am using it every day. Woodworker friends, and even the people at the turning club have not guessed it correctly !

Shellac at 400 grit, sanded to 2000, and five coats of MinWas PolyCrylic. Yesterday I put some TSW on it, and buffed used my new high-tech buffer.

Eagle, if what you are thinking that what Bev is thinking is what you are thinking, then I think that what you are thinking is not what she is thinking. Simple as that.

When Fred revealed what his pen was made of yesterday I rcalled over the summer that I traded some of the useless centerbands that come with slimines to Bev.
She sent me some bottle brush blanks and asked about some pens I had posted picures of in another forum on this site.
I sent her 2 stabilized blanks and I think they "blew out "on her.
I know they can be tricky.
Any way teh similiarity between Freds post and my "special laminations" prompted me to make that post.
