Hello folks,

So here is my first experience with celluloid (nitrated), which was a commission from a buyer who supplied the celluloid (from American Art Plastics) along with a couple extra pieces for me.

After seeing my latest 'Big Hand' size pen, he wanted it to have a similar thick front section, so I made this one accordingly, and made the pen proportional to it. Like the vast majority of my pens, it is fitted with the steel JoWo nib, and is a c/c fill.

The glory of this pen is this celluloid - beautiful stuff, and as has been noted before, pictures just don't do it justice! It has a cool laminar purple pattern, but superimposed on that are shimmering metallic streaks (in the photos they look kind of like dust. They aren't.)

This was my first experience with celluloid, and it was quite interesting - particularly how the strong camphor vapours cleared out the sinuses :)

The last couple of pics show the celluloid pen with my Pelikan M605 for size comparison.

Thanks for looking! Comments and critiques welcome!

Cheers,
