My son asked me to turn a couple of nice pens for him to give to the attorneys who have assisted him this year with the Mock Trial Club he sponsors at the high school where he teaches. The Mock Trial Club he sponsors won their district and will compete in the state competition this weekend.

Very nice work! I'm with James, I like the first one most. Actually, I prefer the second one's primary (Bocote?) wood, but the bands sort of don't play well IMHO. Beautiful craftsmanship, though!

Second one looks like Lignum Vitae with maybe Maple? I like it very much, all are great!

BTW, those are great gifts for mock trial attorneys.

Great job, but you gotta stop keeping us in suspence! We want to know what the woods are! My guess for the 2nd one is olive wood trim bands with Wenge, though the color looks a bit off, so the Bocote might be a good guess. I'm also curious about the light colored wood in the first pen!
