I turned my first Baron Pens this weekend. They were also my first "commissioned" pens if I can count a request from my son to make a couple of pens for him to give his bosses at work.
I count it a blessing for your son to ask you to make something for him to share with his comtemporaties.

The finish is micromesh all the way to 12000 plus HUT Crystal Clear friction wax. I am working my way up to CA and BOL finish. Hopefully Santa will bring me a buffing wheel!

Interesting shape.

I'd suggest starting out with plain CA finish. Get the hang of that, then move to CA+BLO. I think until you know how CA behaves, you dont want to introduce another item into the mix. Once you get the CA down, you arent going to need a buffing wheel.
