My thoughts were of snake skin on the 2nd pic. Finish looks excellent. It is amazing how the pics show both colors from different angles.

The lines are from the blinds that are on the doorwall that I took the photo by.

I sanded first with 400 grit,then BLO followed by a layer of thin CA. Sanded the first coat of CA with 800 then another coat of thin CA. Finished sanding from 800 through 12,000 MM. Finished with Mylands friction polish. (I use heavy CA first when working with unstabilized wood).
