Need some help with wood ID

Awhile back I was given some of this "exotic" wood.
It's a very pretty wood and I'm sure that the first question anyone will ask is "what kind of wood is that". My initial thought was that it might be Cocobolo but I have not seen Cocobolo quite this orange or with quite this distinct of a grain pattern. Any ideas?

Nice looking pen. If not Cocobolo, I would suggest Bocote.

Too red for bocote. ( I have and have used a ton of bocote).

I would have guessed cocobolo. Definately a member of the genus dalbergia.

I would guess it is a rosewood - I have some Brazilian rosewood that looks a lot like that

It looks like cocobolo to me. Beautiful blank by the way

It looks like ironwood to me, is it dense and heavy?

+1 for Cocobolo. I believe I've seen other Cocobolo blanks like that.

It didn't seem to be as dense or heavy as any ironwood I have seen.
