Here's one that I recently finished. I wanted to try a new style and I've always loved the Nakaya's so I modeled this after their cigar style. The material is of my own creation called Opal Starlight.

Dimensions:
Capped - 5 3/8" ~ 143mm
Cap - 2 3/4" ~ 70mm Max Diameter - 15mm
Body - 3 1/4" ~ 83mm Max Diameter - 15mm
Body + Nib - 5" ~ 127mm
Posted - N/A

Threads:
Cap to Body - 12 x.08mm
Front section to Body - 9 x.75mm

Nib & Ink:
#6 Polished Steel Jowo nib in Fine
International Standard Ink Cartridge - Converter (included) - Eyedropper

Oooooo !! VERY NICE Nakaya look-alike !

Thanks! I've always loved Nakaya fountain pens and this material kinda looks like their Raden urushi pens. So I thought it was a fitting tribute

Beautiful pen Jonathon! Please bring it to Show and tell at MAPG.
I like that the cap and barrel are the same diameter where they meet!

Thanks Charlie! Wish I could bring it with me, but it sold after just 30mins on my website . Good problem to have though. It just means I need to make another...and probably several more bc this material is on fire right now

Looks really nice Jonathon. What are the bits in the material? Are they metal?

Is the section the same material? Do you still sell the alumilite?

I know so many questions...

I am starting to try these custom no kit pens and I just figures this week that I need to find a source of materials with more color choices. :)

Excellent work!!

Thanks Ron! Nope not metal. I found this stuff by accident and tried it out with great results. It takes a bit of magic to make them workable for casting though.

The section is black ebonite. I like to give a visual break when I use eye catching material like this. I do still sell alumilite blanks. Typically just via custom requests so if you've got something in mind shoot me a message. I do have a bin of extras if you want a nice assortment! I make them in 9" lengths.

The pen is nice, I'm nuts over your new material! (Imagine a wolf whistle!)

Thanks Chris!

That is absolutely stunning, Jonathon! I love the subtlety of the opal stars shimmering in the black of the night sky. And the craftsmanship - as always - is superb.

When I grow up, I want to be you. :)

I love the blank. Your pen is wonderful. You do great work.

Are these blanks for sale?

Thanks Wayne! Much appreciated.

One day...possibly .
