I think this is the stump from a dead ligustrom plant that I harvested at work. Cut it thinking something good was in there in spring, threw it in the basement and forgot it until a couple of hours ago. This is a cross-cut piece and I'm SO glad I kept the bark at the centerband, had to SATURATE it with CA to keep it there.

Thanks! I carried it around for a while last night, and I need to go swap the clip out for a Fancy Slim clip for the extra clearance. The Hobby Line clips look SO MUCH better, but won't put up with quite as thick of a pen barrel.

You may know this already: you can carefully bend a small arc into the straight clip for use on pens like this one. Just switching to another clip works fine, but at times you may want the look of one over the other. On this pen you did a nice job of incorporating the bark to "create" a CB. Nice job.

I did bend one one time to fit a pen. It didn't look as bad as I thought it would. I am now going to have to go back to the Hobby Line clips, as I just ran out of Fancy Slim clips. I'll probably have to arc a few. Thanks for the compliment! I tried to keep bark at the nib, but it sheared off the second the pen mill hit it. It probably wouldn't have looked as good with the extra distraction from the centerband area.
