Mystery wood from roadside.

This is a mystery wood that fell of a truck in Arkansas. I suspect it was old wood flooring headed to the dump. Wish I had a lot more of it... Anyone have any idea what it is?

The picture's a little dark, but from what I can see that's a great looking pen and nice truck debris.

Greg , you should get a photo editing program . I used a free program called Irfanview www.irfanview.com to fix yours .

I have no idea what it is but it sure makes a good looking pen.If someone asks you could always tell them it is FOG wood(found on ground).

Looks like some Desert Ironwood I've turned, never heard of it being used for flooring though....

I forgot to mention that it is cut against the grain. I had to turn it down with a 4.5 inch hand grinder with a 80 grit flapwheel to keep it from flying apart. It has very deep black in it and also has some translucent yellow orange that my kids say looks like a tiger eye.

I like it also. It has a lot of character. No idea what wood it is.
