Tough to tell from the photo, but my initial thoughts are maple burl, elm burl, afzelia burl, or amboyna burl. Did it have an odor when you were turning it? How dense was it?

Madrone smells like cotton candy, and amboyna has a very distinct smell as well.

Afzelia burl is fairly light and doesn't have a distinct smell. That's my best guess. Redwood burl would be my second choice.
