I found a cane at work that looked to be made out of some kind of vine. It looked really gnarly and I was looking forward to a stronger grain on it once turned down. I managed to do (for me) a decent job backfilling the bark areas with meduim CA, they were grabbing fibers off the paper towel and looking bad. It was a really stable material and I'm reasonably happy with the outcome.
