So I finally got around to turning this one. I have to admit I had no clue what was under the outer "shell" of the blank. I asked Jonathan to throw in something of his choosing the last time I ordered from him and what I received was a very nondescript solid looking rust colored blank.

Well today I cut into it on the band saw and realized that there was something special under that outer coating.

THIS BLANK IS BEAUTIFUL (my opinion anyway ) and I had no idea until I shut off the lathe for the first time after turning it down!

Paired up with a Jr. Gent II fountain with a Heritance nib.

Great work Carl. Yes, many of Jonathon's blanks have an ugly outside protecting the beautiful inside. Glad you let it out!

It came out sweet Carl! Truly one of a kind...mainly bc I don't remember making it or how I did it

If you still have it, bring it to the next meeting. That might jog my memory bc I'd like to try and make more
