Actually, it is my first and only completed one so I guess it qualifies as my best up to now. It is made of Rosewood from a stater kit that I ordered from PSI. I have had three instances of blowout with some of the blanks that I am turning and have found that some of the predrilled holes in the blanks are out of round/oval at one end. I measured them and at their widest point they are .030 in. or almost 1mm oversize. Since they are the slimline 7mm, I think that is why I get the blowout. Going to contact PSI and see what they have to say.

Looking forward to making a lot more pens

IFrom my experence your problem is with your gluing techniques. Many of my blanks that I drill are off center and once you turn them that evens them up. Blowouts are almost always due to not having enough glue, not sanding the tubs or not having sharp tools.
