Default My second pine cone pen

Thought I would share my second time working with pine cones. Kinda fun project in that I picked up the pine cones on a bike ride, stabilized them, mixed the alumilite resin (pearlized teal and white), and of course turned it.
This project allowed me to try new techniques in each of the phases. Quite the challenge to turn due to numerous air pockets.
Hope you enjoy.

Very nice. They look the same as our She-oak cones that we have here in Australia.

Crazy. Showing it to a coworker and they bought it right then fora birthday gift.
One of my quickest sales...even quicker than my first pine cone attempt.

Gorgeous work! Did you pressurize the resin after pouring them?

Thanks and Yes. Alumilite needs pressurized. I put it under about 46psi overnight (simply because I mixed it late)
